After looking online for help with Bluewater fishing I noticed there was nothing that was available for the offshore fisherman that would help you progress faster if new or inexperienced with Bluewater fishing. Until I came across James!!. I did a week course with James that cover everything I was after. Anchorage in shallow and deep water, how to hit the hang, pressure points and where bait would be sitting, targeting species like Red emperor, Large Mouth Nannies, Gold band snapper, coral trout.
We also did a day working on deep drop fishing. Fishing from 120 meters to 350, targeting flame and ruby snapper and Bar cod,to get these fish takes some experience and without James I would never of landed one. The Rigs used to fish these depth where covered in the coarse and now I confidently make my own.
There is to much to list that is covered and I could keep going on and on. If you have a boat and all the gear and want to fill the esky than best of contacting James via fishingapp.
‘In hindsight, my reef fishing
relied alot on luck. Some days worked, others didn’t, and I never knew why.
By utilising the planning structures outlined in the training program, I have been far more more successful in catching target species, and total catch. My fishing trips are preplannned now, with consideration to mapping, current flow, moon phases.
When I used to sound a school of fish, I used to drift through with baits and get a fish or two per drift, until I lost contact with the fish. Utlising the anchoring systems displayed by James, I am now managing the school of fish better and maximising the return of each school especially, an increase in red emperor catching, and trout fishing.
I am learning rapidly from each trip because I am now aware of the factors that affect the day’s bite, and keep a record of these outcomes.

I would like to start by saying a big thank you to James from fishing apps the program you have put together to help (me) the Average fisherman is an excellent program.
For starters this program has helped me in so many ways from how to better read the weather and plan for my fishing trip to setting up my vessel and how best to rig the gear How to anchor my vessel and how to toe the anchor rather than pulling it in every time.
The things I found especially interesting was how to situate The vessel so that you are in front of the pressure point so that your bait, jigs lures Or whatever method of fishing you are using gets right down into the perfect zone.
Using the methods taught in this program has turned my reef and outer reef fishing around in a huge way and my catch rate for coral trout large mouth nannys and the elusive red Empre has risen by 100%.
I would highly recommend this program for any novice fisherman that would like to Better plan a safer and far more productive fishing trip

After meeting James in person and chatting allot about all types of fishing he offloaded so much knowledgeable info on me! Pitty I have a memory of a turd so once he got Fishing Apps up and running I got to look back on all the tutorials and refresh my memory with all of the helpful info! Allot of it is so basic but just things you don’t even think of but makes sense like a second bilge… who knows when you will need it but better to be safe!
One thing that blew my mind was James strategy in moving spot to spot and re anchoring! I’ve never been one to anchor as I like to drift but after some lessons and again going back over the tutorials I’m confident now in towing and setting the anchor the right distance to put the boat on the money spot! I could go on for days as honestly all of his info is beneficial no matter how experienced you are!
James the bill is in the mail for the new/bigger esky I’ve had to buy to fit all the fish we catch!

I’ve found James to be very professional and helpful in all aspects of reef fishing. Including but not limited to deep water fishing, reef fishing and boat and sounder set up. After countless trips with minimal fish coming on board, I went looking for some help online. Found the Fishing Apps Page online. The online course helped in many ways from sounder set up, anchoring, rigs, structure and pressure points. The course covered shallow reef fishing through to deep dropping.
After doing the tutorial, I was lucky enough to meet up with James on one of his Cairns trips. James is very professional and has a lot of knowledge with blue water fishing.
I can’t recommend this course enough for anyone starting out on blue water fishing. After some form the course and James, I can now comfortably target different fish species and put some good quality fish in the esky.
